Here is a brief update of the current status of the 224.52 MHz WA4FC/R system.
- The repeater remains on the air in test mode, and the controller is currently functioning well with no issues.
- The antenna remains at around the 25 foot level on a piece of pipe attached to the shack. We are planning on installing an antenna at the shack for 220 MHz for continued testing, and for 220 MHz work after this repeater moves to a new home.
- The remote base is operable to 444.275 MHz (KG4YJB repeater in Prince George). It may be on/off if you check in.
- A Kenwood TM-V7 has been obtained (thanks to KI4BWJ) that will be used to construct a frequency agile remote base, allowing the repeater to connect to ANY frequency on 2m/70cm as desired.
- The new amplifier is in, and tests just fine. A power supply needs to be obtained to run the amplifier (apx 30 amps). Let us know if you can help.
And thanks to those involved so far with construction, troubleshooting and testing – including KD4GIE, KG4YJB, KI4BWJ, N4HDF and N4TZD. Thanks to Joe, KE4EUE for his advice on the Arcom controller, N4MW, WB4FAX, KG4HOT, KC4YVK and others who have been able to bring up the repeater even with the antenna on the ground. I will keep you up to speed here.
