I've been active in amateur radio since first licensed in 1991 (this is my original callsign). Upgraded to General Class in October 2006, and Amateur Extra in December 2006. Active on 80-10 almost every day. My favorite bands are 80, 60, 20 and 6 meters.
I am interested in DXing, chasing awards, SSB, PSK31, RTTY, SSTV, and some CW operations. I do occasionally some weak signal work on 6m/2m/70cm, and some random airborne operation on 2m from work.
Current equipment at the Chesterfield QTH includes an Icom 756ProII, an Icom 706MKIIG, and Yaesu FT-817 for portable operations. Antennas include a G5RV, dipoles tuned for both 15 and 20 meters, and a stacked pair of loops for 6 meters.
My other interests in radio include Motorola gear, airborne FM gear, military radios, and portable operations. I am the control op for a beacon on 6 meters and 10 meters using the WA4FC callsign (see the fieldcomm.org website for mroe details). Outside of radio it is a host of things - friends and family, computers, shooting, gardening, helping operate this website for my group of radio friends, and general relaxation activities.
Please be sure to check out the rest of the www.fieldcomm.org website including some pictures of my antennas, etc.. 73 until next time.
