Hamvention 2010 update

Site News

Well folks, we were completely too tired last night to post an update. So here is what has happened so far...Doug, Paul and myself have been all over the place from top to bottom and found a few deals, dealt with a few stinking hams and random nerds. Weather was great today in the low 80s with no clouds, and partly cloudy yesterday with highs in the 70s. Obviously, the stink factor was a little higher today with all of the people around. As a whole, we think there was more people there this year than in previous years.

Anyway, we are all headed out in the morning. Stay tuned for one more update and pics will be posted at that time. Hope that all had a good weekend!

The new FieldComm Gear Store

Site News

I am pleased to introduce to you the new FieldComm Gear store featuring a host of apparel and office items. We have talked about shirts and other items ever since we make our bulk order a couple of years ago. While that version of the shirt is not available currently at the online store, there are many other items that are. I can also work up custom items for you if you would like a different design or color, etc.

This allows us to order individual items on demand without having to get together a massive order. This is a couple of sample items that I have ordered to see how things look and so far so good. Plus if you don't like what you order when it gets there, you can send it back without a hassle. Send along your thoughts and if you order something, be sure to post what it looks like.

Updated info on Website

Site News

A couple of days ago I spent some time applying the latest version of the content management system that we use here at FieldComm.  The version is safer and easier to work with.  This will allow us to continue to have a stable place on the internet to call home.  While there is not a whole lot of exciting new features, there are some enhancements that I'll mention.

Fieldcomm mobile update

Site NewsThanks to a suggestion from Jason, you can now access the forum posts from the same page. You can also view the Richmond weather and ARRL news that are seen on the bottom right of the page. We are also working on some code that will allow detection of a mobile device from the main fieldcomm.org address. More on that as it happens. Enjoy and keep the feedback coming!

FieldComm mobile

Site NewsI'm pleased to announce the new fieldcomm.org mobile service, formatted just for viewing on your smart phone or other internet enabled device. It has been tested with blackberry and iphone browsers at the moment and seems to be looking good. It allows you to view stories that are posted on the main page, including any pictures and links.

Point your internet enabled phone to www.fieldcomm.org/m and see what things look like. I'd appreciate your feedback.
