A file provided by N4RVR that includes an overview of NVIS theory and how it works as well as plans for a 80/40 antenna as well as a 80/60/40 antenna. The file is titled NVIS space challanged antenna presentation. Check it out if you want to learn more.
Guys - N4RVR is working on getting an NVIS configured antenna setup at his QTH for regional work on the low bands. He sent along this email from K5KVH via an NVIS mailing list. Check it out for an idea of how to setup an NVIS antenna with a wire reflector near the ground to add gain to the antenna, and stay tuned for more NVIS info in the near future.
This is a preview of the M2 6M9KHW beam for 6 meters. Doug finished two days of assembly on this 9 element beam that has a 49 foot boom. More pictures are located in the 6 meter beam gallery.
This VK does a nice job of showing how to use various buddipole parts to assemble a 6 meter beam for portable ops on 50 MHz. The modular design of the components makes this and other experiments very easy. Take a peek.
After writing my article last year about the bullet proof G5RV that I put up here, I was pretty comfortable with how the installation went and enjoyed using the antenna on a regular basis. I arrived home from vacation a few days ago to find that one of my neighbors branches had fallen on it and snapped off a leg. Here is the details on the repair.
Who ever thought an end fed dipole (an interesting contradiction) would be a reality. When I was building dipoles in Brad’s back yard when we were 13 or so I wish it had been this easy.
